Bridle Path Residence
Currently under construction, Bridle Path was conceived in part as an homage to the traditional front porch, but with a modern twist on the importance of that space in which public transitions to private realm. Its clean modern version of the welcoming porch is crafted as a shed roof that opens the front of the house and its side carpark area to the quiet street. The interior and exterior roof form is finished in natural Hemlock with the sloping plane supported by local cut shell stone columns and walls, with gracious expanses of glass. The open carpark is intended to double as an inviting outdoor terrace with entertainment center and commercial pit barbecue discretely screened from the street behind stone panels and ship-wright level casework. Game days and neighborhood barbeques are intentionally considered by design to foster friendly gatherings and a sense of community that are important to the owners.
Openness of the street elevation gives way to a series of carefully articulated private spaces on the main level of the home including a central raised dining room and kitchen, a private study and the master bedroom suite overlooking a small pool and subtle water feature at the lower level gardens.
The lower level includes a second bedroom, a private exercise and fitness room with kitchenette, and covered open air living room with fireplace, lounge and dining arrangement for alfresco meals. The interior spaces each connect directly to the lounge area with all enveloped by the intimate garden and pool setting. Completion is scheduled for Fall, 2017.
