Chase Park Plaza

Built in the 1920’s, the new owners of the restored mixed use urban center wanted a landscape that would be modern, elegant, and complementary to the stately architecture that defines the Chase.  Franke : Franke used lush plantings of black bamboo and an annual color program to bring color and life to the existing pool deck planters restored and unchanged as part of the hotel renovations.  The renovated theater entrance is graced with a dense grove planting of Maple trees that will form an iconographic bosque of these stately trees that were very much in vogue as street trees during the period the Chase first opened.  As the grove matures, the leaf color and movement in even a slight breeze will reflect the classic theater marque lighting adjacent to the grove
